Installation guide
Installing Terasun TSM fiber cement board
Complete contractor guide — tools, cutting, fastening, joints, weather protection, and finishing.
Tools required
Circular saw or angle grinder with fibre cement blade, drill/driver, measuring tape, chalk line, and PPE (dust mask, goggles).
Cutting methods
Cut with circular saw (fibre cement blade) or score-and-snap for straight cuts on thinner boards. Wet cutting reduces dust.
Fastening
Fix with stainless steel or corrosion-resistant self-tapping screws or annular ring nails. Min 12 mm edge distance, 200 mm edge spacing, 300 mm field spacing.
Joints & gaps
Leave 3 mm expansion gap at all board edges. Tape and fill butt joints for interior. For exterior, leave open joints with sealant or cover with feature joint profiles.
Weather protection
Do not install in freezing conditions. Protect boards from rain until system is weather-sealed. Store under cover — boards must not sit in standing water.
Finishing & paint
Prime with alkali-resistant primer before paint or render. Compatible with mineral, silicone, and acrylic finishes. Interior surfaces can be directly tiled with polymer-modified adhesive.
